Basic troubleshooting found at the end of this FAQ

Rapid shutdown transmitters are a common addition to the Lion Energy Sanctuary system. Those powered by a 12 VDC connection, like the “Tigo RSS Transmitter Rapid Shutdown,” should be wired (typically with thermostat type wire) as seen below, into either just the parent with CTs covering all strings or into both the parent and the child with CTs covering all strings. The pins seen in the image below provide a 12V power supply (500 mA max) for powering on rapid shutdown transmitter components.

In order to test that this is done correctly, test voltage on your PV lines. If voltage is present and installation of the RSS modules was done properly on the solar panels, then proper DC voltage will be present.

Basic Troubleshooting

Why are my PV strings not showing voltage?
  1. System is not on.
    1. Make sure the inverter push buttons are in the on position (in).
    2. Ensure that the rotary switch found on the side of the inverter is in the on position.
  2. Wiring does not have proper continuity.
    1. Check if the RSS is showing any power lights
    2. Check to see that the TIGO power supply wire is properly connected to the push pins.
    3. Check to see that the TIGO power supply wire is properly connected to the RSS Transmitter.
    4. Check to see if the system is outputting 12 VDC between the 12 Volt pin +12V_COM and GND_COM.
    5. Check to make sure the wires are in the correct pins.
  3. External disconnect issue.
    1. Check any external disconnects to ensure that they are not creating an open circuit.
    2. RSS transmitter or receiver potentially damaged.
